Introduction

At One Beautiful Action Foundation ("we," "our," or "us"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our services.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing our website or using our services, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

  • Personal Information: This may include your name, email address, and location when you submit an action, register for an account, or contact us.
  • Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with our website, including pages visited, features used, and time spent.
  • Location Data: When you submit a beautiful action, we collect location data to place it on our map at city or town level. Exact street addresses are not needed. City searches are sent through our server to Photon (OpenStreetMap data); we do not forward your story, email, or browser IP with that request. Search results are cached for up to 30 days. Your browser requests map tiles directly from OpenFreeMap. Member and administrator sign-in use Cloudflare Access to verify your email with a code. Member accounts are separate from administrator permissions.
  • Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience and enable site functionality. Member sign-in uses an HTTP-only session cookie that expires after 24 hours; the server stores a hash of its random token. Story drafts are saved in this browser tab’s session storage for up to 24 hours, cleared after submission, and never uploaded until you submit.

How We Use Your Information

We may use the information we collect for various purposes, including to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services and website
  • Process and display beautiful actions on our map
  • Communicate with you about our services, updates, and events
  • Respond to your inquiries and provide customer service
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience
  • Protect against, identify, and prevent fraud and other unlawful activity
  • Comply with legal obligations

Sharing Your Information

We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • Public Content: Actions you submit (including location and description) may be publicly displayed on our map. You can choose to submit actions anonymously.
  • Service Providers: We may share information with third-party vendors who provide services on our behalf, such as hosting, analytics, and customer service.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our organization.
  • With Your Consent: We may share information with third parties when we have your consent to do so.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:

  • Accessing, correcting, or deleting your personal information
